Take a short stroll down to the beach in Clarach Bay, sit on the rocks and try to spot the Cardigan Bay pod of dolphins. If you’re feeling energetic, follow the coastal path over the cliffs to Aberystwyth or to Borth, in the opposite direction.
The Victorian seaside resort of Aberystwyth is only 10 minutes away, with its promenade, pier and cliff railway. The town has many shops, pubs and great places to eat. There is also the Rheidol Vale Railway to the world famous Devil’s Bridge and waterfalls, the National Library of Wales and Arts Centre as well as the usual amenities of a town including supermarkets and a leisure centre.
The fit will also love the mountain bike trails in the nearby forests, or the Ystwyth cycle trail to the spectacular waterfalls at Devils Bridge. You will find golf courses at Capel Bagnor, Borth, Aberystwyth and Llanrhydstud, pony trekking, canoeing, sailing, climbing – all available less than a 30 minute drive from the Green Meadow.
Nature lovers can enjoy the Red Kite feeding centre at Nant-yr-Arian, the wide expanse of flower-rich sand dunes at Ynyslas or the RSPB nature reserves at Yns-hir and Cors Dyfi.
