Aberystwyth is a sand and shingle beach, and a favourite by both locals and visitors each year for its traditional seaside pleasures such as donkey rides, homemade ice cream and plenty of sandcastles. It is another great beach for Dolphin spotting in Wales, particularly in early summer months as they head south to New Quay.
If you feel like an excursion, Penbryn Beach is one of the best beaches in Wales. Described as a hidden gem by The National Trust, this mile of golden sands is worth the hours’ drive for a day of uninterrupted serenity. The little light pollution in this area makes Penbryn a wonderful place to drive to at dusk to admire the stars above the ocean.
Another beach worth the drive for a day out is National Trust Beach, Mwnt, a golden cove nestled along the Ceredigion coast. This golden cove is less than 2 hours drive from the park and is a truly unspoilt treasure cushioned into the Ceredigion coast. Some of the best beaches in Wales lie on the Mid Wales coastline which makes the Green Meadow Holiday Home Park the ideal place for coastal holidays.
