You will find one of the world’s largest camera obscuras when you reach the top which provides bird’s eye views of 1000 square miles. From spectacular seascape to impressive mountainous countryside, these sights are unmatched in their beauty and clarity.
You’ll be transported up to the top by the longest funicular electric cliff railway in Britain, meaning Constitution Hill’s must-see Aberystwyth panoramas are accessible for everyone. The Aberystwyth Cliff Railway has been transporting people up Constitution Hill since 1896 and runs at a leisurely 4 miles per hour, meaning you can relax on this steady journey and absorb the views.
Walking enthusiasts don’t have to take the Aberystwyth Cliff Railway however, it’s just a moderate walk to the top of Constitution Hill and makes for one of the greatest ways to enjoy the scenery. The Wales Coast Path runs directly through the peak so keen walkers can always continue on towards Aberystwyth once they have enjoyed the views from the hill.
There’s more to do when you reach the top of the hill too. The café is open all day serving food and drink, including alcoholic beverages in which they describe as the biggest beer garden! The popular games room is the perfect way to keep the whole family entertained. Pool, air hockey and even ten-pin bowling lanes are there to be enjoyed, as well as a gift shop, and frisbee golf is a popular activity to play outdoors too.
